Postpartum Recovery
I am here to support you through your 4th trimester with a special expertise in postpartum care. As a passionate pelvic health advocate, I strongly believe that all women have a right to comprehensive postpartum care. I believe in supporting women while they recover and transition through this new and often vulnerable phase of life. Common issues treated during postpartum: diastasis recti, c-section scar pain, perineal scar pain, pelvic floor pain or muscle spasms, hip/pelvic/low back pain, core muscle restoration, ankle/wrist/thumb sprains, posture and positions for holding/feeding/pumping, pain management, and so much more. Despite common misconceptions, you typically do not need to wait 6 weeks before starting your recovery. After all, if you are expected to get up and care for a baby, you can be taught recovery tools to care for yourself during that time. It’s never too late to start your postpartum recovery, but the sooner the better.

I was very fortunate to find Victoria through my Columbia connections and began the recovery regimen right after giving birth. She impressed me with her in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and various disciplines of physical exercises, which are not just limited to her specialty. Her well-rounded views and philosophical approaches made me feel at ease from the get-go and opened a new world to me after birth.
Victoria offered home visits, which was a huge help to me at a time when I was limited by my physical condition or simply being a new parent. At our first appointment, she spent a lot of time examining my body and asking intake questions. Her thoroughness extends beyond the initial visit and she adapts the therapy and exercise to my needs and recovery progress. Victoria’s also super good with babies and has provided helpful guidance for my little one. My whole family is in love with her. She is such a wonderful and genuine human being with a loving nurturing soul.
Now I have made a complete recovery from the child labor complications and learned so much about the human body as whole. Most importantly, I simply enjoyed talking with her and exchanging ideas with such a beautiful mind. Because of this positive experience, I have incorporated her exercises into my daily routines and I’m actually in my best physical state.
Thank you Victoria being a part of my journey to become the better self - it’s been therapeutic, informative, rewarding, and fun.

Dr. Garrett is the embodiment of professionalism, knowledge, and warmth. I met her shortly after my son was born. I was experiencing pain due to the trauma of giving birth, as well as round ligament syndrome. She made me feel comfortable from the get-go and confident in her ability to assess my condition. She took her time to explain everything she was doing and recommended a number exercises I could do on my own. Dr. Garret is committed to her work and her focus and encouragement are singular. She is persistent and brings her full attention and care to your suffering. This is a very complex sub-speciality of medicine and there are so few experts — but she is one of them!

I met Dr. Victoria when I was a few months pregnant, with a lot of pelvic and back pain. Not only did she alleviate my pain but she also taught me awareness of my own body (how to avoid movements that hurt, how to do things differently, exercises at home etc). After I gave birth, we engaged in pelvic floor therapy and I never had leaking incident. In this instance as well, she treated me and taught me awareness. I am from France where pelvic therapy is considered the norm after giving birth and I struggled to find a knowledgeable provider here. I still see Victoria for back/ neck pain, posture and general strengthening. Victoria has been here for me all the steps of the way and I feel very fortunate I met her. She is an outstanding therapist.

Victoria has lived about nine lives before becoming a physical therapist, and brings her knowledge from all of these experiences to her practice. She is kind and caring and a really good listener (yes, I know you’re coming here for her medical qualifications, but I think these are under-appreciated aspects of a good practitioner!) My PT intake session with her was several hours. Honestly the most careful and intensive look anyone has taken at my body! She then crafted individualized ideas for workouts, and always has modifications and tweaks as I’ve started to do the exercises and noticed what does and doesn’t feel good. She has helped me listen to my body, and to be more confident and intentional in my movements. I wish she could train my other doctors because this is a kind of medical care we all wish we were getting!

LONG BUT HONEST REVIEW: I can't say enough good things about Victoria, the physical therapist extraordinaire! If you're in search of someone who is not only incredibly effective but also incredibly compassionate, look no further. Victoria is the best physical therapist I've ever had the pleasure of working with, and I can confidently say she's perfect for people with chronic ailments, like myself.
From the moment we began working together, I felt welcomed and valued. Victoria's warm and friendly demeanor instantly put me at ease, which is no small feat when you're dealing with health challenges. She truly listens and takes the time to understand your unique needs and concerns, making you feel like a partner in your own healthcare journey.
What sets Victoria apart, however, is her unparalleled skill and expertise. She has a deep understanding of the complexities of physical therapy, ESPECIALLY when it comes to working with individuals who have disabilities. Her treatments are not one-size-fits-all; instead, she tailors each session to address your specific issues and goals. Victoria's knowledge is vast, and she's always up-to-date with the latest advancements in her field.
But it's not just her knowledge and technical prowess that make her exceptional; it's her heart. Victoria genuinely cares about her patients. She celebrates your victories, no matter how small, and provides unwavering support during the tough times. She's a true motivator, always pushing you to be your best self.
Thanks to Victoria's guidance and expertise, I've made remarkable progress on my journey towards improved mobility and overall well-being. She's not just a physical therapist; she's a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration.
If you're in need of a physical therapist who is compassionate, skilled, and perfect for individuals with disabilities, I wholeheartedly recommend Victoria. She's a true gem in her profession, and I'm incredibly grateful to have her as my therapist. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in my healing journey. She is, HANDS DOWN, better than all the physical therapist I've ever worked with COMBINED.. and I've worked with 10+ doctors over 15 years.
Thank you, Victoria, for being the best physical therapist ever! You truly have made a tangible impact on decreasing my daily levels of chronic pain. I am forever grateful my insurance fell into your network!!!

Victoria is a fount of knowledge. From the work we do on the table to the exercises she gives me to keep up at home, I understand why each one is used. From our first diagnostic session, Victoria made me feel better. If she does not know something, she will research it, but there are a few things about the body that she does not know!

I scheduled a visit with Dr. Garrett to help me troubleshoot on-going shoulder pain that I was experiencing during workouts. She was thorough in her analysis of my situation, demonstrated several exercises I could perform at home with bands to help strengthen lesser-used muscles, and she followed up with written documentation so that I knew exactly how to continue my exercises at home. I’m about two months past the initial visit and my pain issues are completely gone. I have returned to exercising safely, using proper techniques that do not irritate my shoulder.
During my conversations with Dr. Garrett I also inquired about pelvic health during peri-menopause. I have struggled to find trusted information about peri-menopause, and even menopause, and found Dr. Garrett to be a wealth of knowledge, providing me with several evidenced-based resources that helped me better understand the changes my body is experiencing at this time. She is easy to talk to, really listens to understand concerns, and provides thorough recommendations.
I would highly recommend Dr. Garrett to anyone in need of physical therapy and/or information and guidance related to pelvic health.

Dr. Victoria Garrett is, hands down, the most reliable and caring physical therapist I have ever worked with. After months of wrist pain resulting from a yoga injury and unsuccessful treatment with a doctor at a large institution, I was referred to Dr. Garrett and immediately knew I was on the path to recovery. She crafted a therapy program tailored directly to my specific needs and provided in-home treatment, helping me to utilize my own space and infuse my daily routine with manageable healing exercises in support of overall healing. Shortly after starting my customized home program with Dr. Garrett, I gained relief from the pain in my wrist and even felt strong enough to do a bit of yoga. Six months into the program, I am back to my regular yoga practice. Dr. Garrett’s compassion, evidence-based recommendations, personalized care, attention to detail, and boundless patience are unparalleled and an example for all health professionals. My recommendation for Dr. Victoria Garrett comes without reservation and with the fullest of confidence!
